Bravo Synopsis
Former Special Forces Operative Bradyn Williamson may have traded a battlefield for his family’s ranch in Texas, but that doesn’t mean he stopped fighting.
As the founder of Hunt Brothers Search & Rescue, he and his team take on missing persons cases that no one else can solve. They’ve retrieved people from the very depths of hell-on-earth, which is bound to leave some scars. And he certainly carries his fair share of them.
Kennedy Smith has had many names and lived many different lives as she runs from her past, her only goal surviving long enough to see the next sunrise. Her most recent identity is as a ranch hand in a small, North Texas town.
Run by Army veterans, she figures there’s no better place to hide than the Hunt family ranch. That is until she begins to grow attached to the eldest Hunt brother, Bradyn. She should run, after all, not getting attached is rule number one to
staying alive. But before she can bring herself to leave, the threat shows up on her doorstep, dragging Bradyn right into the flames alongside her.
Bradyn has saved the lives of hundreds of people, but can he protect Kennedy from the ghosts of her past? Or will her secrets burn everything he’s built to the ground?

It’s nearly two in the morning when someone pounds on our door. I shoot up out of bed, adrenaline surging through my system, but Bradyn is already out of his bed and opening the door between our room and the one Elijah and Jaxson are sharing.
I get up and limp over toward him, grateful that I can put a bit more weight on my ankle this morning.
“What is it?” Bradyn asks.
“Proximity alarm,” he replies then turns a tablet around so we can see the screen. An entire team of what looks like SWAT is lining up in the parking lot. “I set them up before bed. My guess is they’re here for you and her.”
I’ve seen what Bradyn can do, and I imagine both Elijah and Jaxson are capable too. But I also know, without a doubt, that there’s no fighting our way out of this.
So what do we do?
Trust in Me. Those three words come rushing to me like a freight train, though I have no idea what they mean.
Bradyn rushes into our room and starts shoving my stuff into my bag then clips the leash on Bravo. The whole thing is done so quickly that I barely have time to process what he’s doing. “Get Kennedy and Bravo back to the ranch.”
“What? No! What are you going to do?”
“Buy you time,” he replies then tugs the blankets back up over the bed and tosses his bag on top so it doesn’t look like anyone was sleeping there.
“Bradyn, they’re going to kill you.” Panic claws at my heart, suffocating me. This can’t be happening. He can’t be seriously considering staying here and letting them catch him.
“I’ll be fine.”
“If I can get out, then so can you. Come with me. Please.” Tears stream down my cheeks as I grip his arm, trying to tug him toward the door.
But Bradyn is a wall that will not be moved. He reaches up and cups my cheek. “You have to go with them.”
“You have to come too.”
“If I’m not here, that room is the first one they’re going to. This way, at least there’s a chance.”
“Bradyn.”
“Kennedy.” He leans in and presses a kiss to my forehead. “I’ll find you, okay? I will make it back. Trust me.”
“I don’t want to go without you.” Tears stream down my cheeks now. The idea of leaving Bradyn here to a fate that’s not his own is killing me right where I stand.
“It’s not me they want. They’ll let me go.”
“We’re out of time, guys. They’re at the bottom of the stairs,” Elijah urges.
“Go. Get her to the ranch.” Bradyn releases me, and Elijah tugs me into the room while Jaxson takes Bravo’s leash.
Bradyn leans down and runs his hand over Bravo’s head. “Be a good boy, Bravo.”
“Bradyn—”
“Go,” he says, keeping his voice low. “Please.”
I back into the room, knowing that if I get caught in here, it’ll make this sacrifice meaningless. If they get all of us, no one will know where to find us, and I’ll have dragged three more men into the body count.
So, even though I don’t want to, I go.
“Keep her safe.”
“You have our word,” Jaxson replies. “And we’ll get you out.”
“I know.” He offers me one final smile then shuts the door. The lock clicks behind him.
A loud boom echoes like thunder, and muffled yelling fills my ears. I cover my mouth, choking on a scream as I imagine them attacking Bradyn, cuffing him, and hauling him away like a criminal when it’s really me they want.
“Come here,” Elijah orders. He takes my hand and tugs me over toward the small closet. Then, he hands me Bravo’s leash and closes us both inside.
I’m immediately plunged back into that nightmare two years ago.
I can barely hear the sound of a knock at the door.
Nor can I make out the words spoken.
All I can do is wait for the door to open…and my life to end.

I’m drawn to books with heart-racing suspense, adventure and romance under extraordinary circumstances, so I was extremely happy to discover this new-to-me author. She writes how and what I like to read. How wonderful to get in on the first of a new series!
Bravo is about two people falling in love, knowing it’s extremely risky, but knowing that it’s completely worth the effort. Former Special Forces Operative Bradyn Hunt, 36, head of Hunt Brothers Search & Rescue falls in love with Kennedy Smith, a runaway who’s hiding out as a ranch hand, Sammi Lewis. One of the challenges they face is that they’ve both erected walls and are unwilling at first to let the other see what’s behind them. The novel is full of trust and redemption and both characters constantly battle their past to keep secrets from destroying what they may have.

I can't wait for ECHO this Spring.
Okay I will admit it. I LOVE this series of books. I was just introduced to Jessica
Ashley's books and I was lucky enough to snag a spot on her ARC team and I can tell this is going to be a long friendship, I have read two of her books so far and will be reading a lot more as soon as time allows, my goal is to get my hands on everyone of her books and to read them all.
Back to this book...Bravo had me hooked from the first few pages. Bravo is the name of a German Shepherd and he is a member on the Hunt Brothers Search & Rescue Team. They travel around the world helping others in need. Bradyn Hunt Former Special Forces Operative started the group when he was discharged, the team includes his brothers and their dogs and a group of his brothers in arms have come aboard as well.
The home base for Bradyn and the team is in Texas on the family farm. The brothers take turns going on missions depending on family and their special assets their skills bring to the table. For instance being a whizz on the computer, being trained in my fighting methods and sometimes just being able to remain calm. Their leader on every mission is the Lord and knowing that he is always the one in charge and they all pray for his hand of safety every time.
This mission starts with a girl missing from a gas station in San Antonio, Texas and now it has grown to a human trafficking case involving 37 girls ranging from 14 to 22 now missing. When the mission is over they do a head count and have 41, so they got to save more then they knew of. On this mission we had Frank, Bradyn, Silas and Bravo are partners with their Lord as the leader on each and every mission.
Bradyn has just returned to town and one of the ranch workers Kennedy Smith has just grabbed his attention. Later we find out that she is an outlaw on the run and has been for years, so how can this relationship possibly stand a chance?
Kennedy is in hiding since her best friend’s death and has been working on the Hunt Ranch, but trouble comes knocking and Bradyn makes it his mission to be her protector. Enjoyed the story start to finish. Even shed a few tears at one point. These stories do have faith elements, but character flaws, mystery, and happy endings.
I absolutely adore Bradyn & Kennedy's intense, sweet , caring, healing, loving, happily ever after!!
4.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Wow, just WOW! This was the perfect read to finish up 2024. This was the first book that I’ve ever read that took place in Texas with cowboys! No regrets! I LOVED it.
The first encounter of Bradyn and Kennedy gave a perfect example of “When you know, you know” and “Love at first sight” and of when God tells you who the one is!!!
When Kennedy was running from the bad guys and this unknown man helping her, I was sobbing and the adrenaline was real, it’s almost as if I was the one running - that’s how this book will make you feel. It is just amazing!!
Kennedy ugh 😣 I wish I could give her a hug! She went through a lot, losing hope but eventually she found hope and LOVE. Isn’t that amazing! That’s life but never alone - God and the right people will remind us to keep going and never lose hope.
The reason I give it a 4.5 is because I wanted to know what exactly was so important for her to escape! The suspense got me thinking and I wanted to know more but hey maybe in the next books we will know maybe they will all be Interconnected. Nonetheless, unique writing, plot and characters. Keep going Jess! I believe in you!!
Fun fact:
Also, a few days ago I was on my way back from a trip in Mexico when I saw a sign that said HUNT BROTHERS (I took a pic but accidentally deleted it 😭) and I was internally screaming haha because this was in Texas!!! Maybe I could’ve found my own cowboy if I had stayed a little bit longer😆 jk
*thanks for the arc once again 🫶🏻
