I cannot believe that the Coastal Hope series is finally complete! It seems like just yesterday I was sitting down to start writing Pages of Promise. I can still feel the nerves as I hit publish on each and every story in this series.
The men of Knight Security and the residents of Hope Springs have been on my mind a lot lately, partly because I am going to miss them and partly because I am so grateful to have been able to tell their stories.
Each set of characters resonated with me on a level I hadn't been prepared for, and with each book out, I sent a piece of me into the world alongside it, a lesson I learned or something I still struggle with.
Every single word in these books is a love letter to God and His grace. A reminder that without Him nothing would be possible.
It is my hope for those who are still seeking their faith and those who are fighting through pain but choosing to praise Him anyway. It's so easy to feel alone in this sinful world, but you are NOT. You're never alone.
You are loved.
Seen.
Cherished.
Now, this series might be over, but the adventure is only just getting started. BRAVO is already shaping up to be an exhilarating story of redemption, faith through trials, and standing up for what's right even if it means sacrificing everything.
I included a full list of the verses that inspired the series in Perilous Healing, but I wanted to put them here, too, so you can access them quickly wherever you may be!
______
Pages of Promise
“This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
Searching for Peace
“ This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all. So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth. But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.” 1 John 1:5-9
“A peaceful heart leads to a healthy body; jealousy is like cancer in the bones.” -Proverbs 14:30
Second Chance Serenity
“Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them. Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all! Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone. Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, “I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” says the Lord. Instead, “If your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals of shame on their heads.” Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.” Romans 12:14-21
“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” -John 14:6
Tactical Revival
“Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? And if worry can’t accomplish a little thing like that, what’s the use of worrying over bigger things?” Luke 12:25-26
“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” -John 16:33
Perilous Healing
“The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right; his ears are open to their cries for help. But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil; he will erase their memory from the earth. The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time. For the Lord protects the bones of the righteous; not one of them is broken! Calamity will surely destroy the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be punished. But the Lord will redeem those who serve him. No one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.” -Psalm 34:15-22
“Then Nebuchadnezzar said, “Praise to the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego! He sent his angel to rescue his servants who trusted in him. They defied the king’s command and were willing to die rather than serve or worship any god except their own God.” -Daniel 3:28
